Love and the Chakras

All You Need Is Love

Chakras are the major energy centers of the body. They run from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The word chakra is Sanskrit for wheel  चक्र  and it is the perfect word because chakras carry information about our spiritual, emotional, and physical state through the body. When any one or more of these chakras is out of balance, our body is out of balance and we feel it. All that hard work we put into solidifying our higher, spiritual connections will suffer. Our physical state suffers. Our emotions become imbalanced.
Throughout my studies and practice, I have learned that what our chakras and our body need for balance is love. Yes, you heard that right! As The Beatles so aptly put it, All You Need Is Love. love, unconditional, artful gems

First Love

Do you remember your first love? Of course you do! Find me one who doesn’t. Remember that feeling! Heart racing… feeling euphoric and giddy… butterflies that may be from nervousness or anxiety…
When we fall in love, it feels like we can do anything!!!

That feeling may be the reason why we all remember our first love. Here’s a cool article that shows what happens in our body when we meet that special someone.
So what does this all have to do with the chakras?
As I said before, our chakras require balance for our body, mind, and spirit to be balanced. But, many of us are not aware of them, so we do not actively exercise them. Of those of us who do know about our chakras and actively work them, there are many who are not aware that there are more than the 7 chakra centers in our body.
For example, there are two more above our head, one below our feet, one in the palm of each hand, and the 13th chakra, which is slightly below the level of the heart.
It is this thirteenth chakra that I want to focus on.

All chakras operate on a subconscious level even in those who are not aware of their existence. So, don’t worry, it’s okay. You may have been developing them all along. When we question, things like what is our purpose and who are we truly in the Universe chakras begin a sort of awakening!

Unconditional Love

All the energy centers work together to keep us healthy in all aspects of our being. Their energies flow through our etheric body, and developing each will bring us closer to the spirits. They all have a purpose and each purpose is meant to make us the person we are meant to be, spiritually, emotionally, and physically healthy and alive. They must be open and stay open, aligned, and fluid.  You can read a little more about the main 7 chakras here.

The thirteenth chakra is unlike the main, 7 chakras. Its energy is unconditional love. This chakra is always flowing. It is a gateway to our Higher Power, unconditional love, just the way we are. It is happiness and bliss.

Developing this connection within us will bring about that one thing which we all search. In this Higher consciousness, we will know Divine love, understanding, and acceptance of who we are. We will know ourself and embrace our self without question for we are perfection, just the way we are.
The awakening of the 13th chakra is all we need for our life to be filled with love and happiness! Unlike  the beliefs of most, happiness and love are within us.  Feelings of unworthiness will be a thing of the past. There is no reason to go searching anywhere to find love for it lives within us. What we must do to attain it, however, is to amplify it and nurture it.
We will become aware of ourselves and throw away any notions that we are not good enough. Our life will be an inner quest of self-fulfillment and true bliss. I hear you thinking that this all sounds selfish.
That’s what those who have drunk the Kool-aid will have you believe.
Being happy is our Goddess given right!

Unconditional Love and Society

It is a shame that our society has programmed us to feel selfish whenever we think of ourselves. And, I’m not saying going out and spending, $1000 on a pair of boots. That is perfect! For society, that is. As long as your self-fulfillment happens outside of yourself, society has no problem with it. Actually, it encourages it.
The moment that we begin to look inward and nurture and nourish our inner selves, we are called selfish. Unfortunately, that’s one of the nicest things we are called. Taking care of ourselves spiritually and nurturing our spiritual connections somehow makes us crazy, suddenly we must be part of a cult.

Turning inward and learning to cultivate our inner, spiritual self doesn’t quite align with what society wants us to do: spend money looking for outside agents to take care of the void in us. Our search for love and happiness outside of our being results in feelings of depression. They can lead us to addiction, and feelings of worthlessness. All of these bring big money to the economy and make the pharmaceutical companies disgustingly rich.

Love Is the Answer

The answer is waiting for you and you do not need a prescription. The 13th chakra has been awake all along and all you need to do is connect with it actively. Give yourself permission if at the beginning you too are calling yourself selfish. If you have forgotten the things that make you happy, remind yourself and allow yourself to be happy and joyful. It is your time to shine!
Connecting actively to the spiritual energy of the 13th chakra and practicing it will free you from the feelings of depression and loneliness, or any other feelings of worthlessness you may be feeling. It will become absolutely crystal clear that those feelings come from a place that is not being loved, unconditionally. You have the answer right within you: self-love. We do not need another person, a new car, a new leather coat.

Our Higher Power, no matter what you choose to call her, has loved you unconditionally since before you were born. The love it feels for you transcends the physical body, emotional states, and societal beliefs and standards. All that stuff is man-made and made to create self-doubt, feelings of inferiority, and physical and emotional illness.
Develop and satiate your spiritual self. Feed it! Meditate! Take care of your body! Be your best! And, stay connected to the 13th chakra.

So, What Do You Think?

What is your experience with the 13th chakra?
