Pearls= Pure and Lustrous Elegance

Pearls’ beauty is timeless. Its symbolism make them the perfect gifts for weddings, communions, confirmations, Mother’s day, and anniversaries; any occasion that calls for a gift of purity, spirituality, honesty, wisdom, and integrity. Pearls are representative of every good quality that we should possess.

Women love Pearls and it is no wonder! They make every outfit classic and elegant! They are natural and simple. And, no two are alike! 

I grew up seeing prominent, successful women adorning and complimenting their attire with Pearls. From heads of state, to monarchs, to celebrities; when dressed to impress, Pearls are the go-to gem.

I received my first ensemble when I graduated from high school. I received the earrings and the necklace. They were not the traditional style because my grandmother knew me and understood I was not a traditional sort of girl. That is the beauty! You can wear them in your own unique way; make them reflect your personality.

Live Pearls

Pearls are the only gemstones made by living creatures. Mollusks produce them by depositing layers of calcium carbonate around microscopic irritants that get lodged in their shells—usually not a grain of sand, as commonly believed.

While any shelled mollusk can technically make a Pearl, only two groups of bivalve mollusks (or clams) use mother-of-pearl to create the iridescent “nacreous” pearls that are valued in jewelry.

Lore

Hindus said they were dewdrops falling from the sky. They saw them as symbols of love, union, and purity.

The Greek thought they were the tears of the gods. It is from them that we have the tradition of wearing them on our wedding day. They believed Pearls would prevent women from crying.

Just like many other gems, they offer protection. They will also attract wealth and luck.

Because they naturally calm, they will balance the karma.

In Catholic tradition, June is the month of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, and couples traditionally pick June for their weddings. That makes the Pearl the perfect gemstone to represent it. 

I think Pearls are misunderstood. There is no one way to wear them. Add them to your jewelry chest and wear them on any occasion that you want. They are a fascinating gem! Dressed up or down, they will make you feel like a million bucks!
